The acronym APN refers to the Name of the Internet Access Point from your Smartphone, which you must have configured to use your mobile data. They are configured manually as follows.

If your terminal has Android operating system:

  • The APNs that are configured by default when inserting the Vodafone SIM card are: “ airtelwap.es ” (by default), “ airtelnet.es ” and “ ac.vodafone.es ” (for tablets and modems).

  • To create a new APN in your terminal and configure it correctly, enter the menu: " Settings "> " Connections "> " Mobile Networks "> " Access point names ", and enter the data in the section "Data to configure the APN "which is shown in this faq.

  • In the " Mobile Networks " section, click on the APN option (there is usually a button with a "+" symbol or a menu to add a new connection), and enter the APN name   (in some cases, a username and password may be required ). Click  Save .

  • In the APN section on the phone, select the APN you just created  so that the device can find the mobile data connection. Remember to keep the "Mobile Networks" tab activated .

If your terminal has an iOS operating system:

  • You can view or edit the APN on your iPhone by accessing this location: " Settings "> " Mobile data "> " Mobile data network ".

  • Once you have completed the APN, in the "Mobile Data" menu, entering " internet " and leaving the following fields empty , the internet is configured.

  • To change the settings , tap each field and enter the information. They should be saved automatically. You may need to re-enter the settings after an iOS update .

To create an APN in your terminal you need to enter these data:

  • Name : ex: Vodafone (you can write any name)

  • APN : airtelwap.es

  • MCC : 214

  • MNC : 01

  • Authentication type : PAP

  • APN type : "default" and "supl"
